Tech Products for Jobs – Web Scraping, Job Classification and Content Enhancement

Overview

Aspen Tech Labs builds and maintains the infrastructure required to collect, structure, validate, and deliver job posting data at scale.

Founded in 2008, the company initially developed job board and career site software. As the hiring ecosystem evolved, the focus shifted toward solving the structural data challenges common across job boards, hiring platforms, workforce analytics systems, and financial research environments.

Today, Aspen Tech Labs supports large-scale job boards, hiring platforms, and labor market intelligence systems built on continuously refreshed job data collected directly from employer career sites and ATS platforms.

Beyond scraping and collection, our technology cleans the collected data via job classification, location normalization, salary/wage identification, company/industry categorization, and many additional features that enable taxonomy and structured data to be available for job board and hiring platform use… reducing the cost for each to do it separately.

Core Capabilities

The technology stack supports end-to-end job data processing, including:

  • SFTP

Data Processing Architecture

The process includes our proprietary multi-stage processing framework used to support JobsIndex and JobMarketPulse.

Processing 1: Research & Source Monitoring

  • Detection of new ATS platforms
  • Source discovery and validation
  • Monitoring of career site changes
  • Configuration updates

Output: validated URLs and source definitions.

Processing 2: Collection & Queueing

  • Distributed scraping framework
  • Queue-based workload management
  • Storage of raw job data
  • Structured ingestion pipelines
  • API gateway integration

Output: structured raw job feeds and administrative metadata.

Processing 3: Feeds & Index Processing

  • De-duplication
  • Employer normalization
  • Classification & enrichment
  • Snapshot generation
  • API-ready datasets

Output: JobsIndex feeds, structured datasets, and access endpoints.

Processing 4: Analytics & Monitoring

  • Job trends analysis
  • Historical tracking (data history extending to September 2022, with expanded coverage over time)
  • BI analytics layer (JobMarketPulse)
  • System monitoring and anomaly detection

Output: labor market insights, verified hiring signals, system stability metrics.

Data Integrity & Methodology

Raw job data is collected directly from employer career sites and ATS platforms. It is not sourced from LinkedIn or syndicated aggregators.

Job counts and raw job data are derived from the same framework. Morning verified counts should be treated as the most accurate representation of hiring activity.

Quality controls include:

  • Duplicate cleanup
  • Employer normalization
  • Location standardization
  • Manual validation layers
  • Monitoring of site protections and changes

AI & Modeling Applications

Structured job data supports:

  • Machine learning model training
  • Labor demand forecasting
  • Workforce analytics
  • Skills trend analysis
  • Classification model development

Datasets are suitable for research, analytics, and financial monitoring use cases.

Platform Integration

The infrastructure supports integration into:

  • Job boards and hiring platforms
  • Financial research systems
  • Internal BI environments
  • Workforce planning tools
  • Public research dashboards

Delivery options are configurable depending on client requirements.
